This week, we have a 13-fight card at Boise, Idaho. It’s headlined by Junior Dos Santos vs Blagoy Ivanov, that will be making his UFC debut. DraftKings has smaller competitions with this card since it is just a Fight Night card with lesser known name, but there’s still well over $100k to be won. I’ll be chasing my fair share of that money and I hope you guys will be . Here are a couple plays I enjoy this weekend along with my fade of this week.
Cash Game play of this week — Alexander Volkanovski ($9,200)
I believe Volkanovski is the”safest” play on this card and his -300 betting line would agree with me. That is where I will be starting my lineup this week and I’ll figure out the rest from there. Volkanovski averages 116.5 DK points through his first four UFC fights so he has a whole lot of upside as well. He could potential score over two winners with this particular card combined. I do think he’s in drama for GPPs as well for this reason, but he will likely be the heaviest owned fighter on the card and we do not care about ownership as much in cash games. I would suggest paying up for the expensive cost on your cash games and I then look for three or more others wins you’re confident in.
GPP play of the week — Junior Dos Santos ($8,700)
JDS should function as way better striker inside this struggle and I think that is where the fight will take place. He could get KO’d in the opening seconds of the fight and score 0 points, but this is what makes him a GPP play in lieu of a cash match play. With both of these Heavyweights, we need to likely see a KO inside the 25-minues and I think the former champion, JDS, are the one to receive it. He has good takedown defense so he should be able to maintain this battle on the feet where he’ll have a 4-inch achieve benefit to work with.
Underdog drama of the week — Niko Price ($7,900)
Niko is going to be my underdog drama of the week. The chances demonstrate that the fight ought to be rather close and there is a great chance he uses his wrestling to gain the advantage. In 5 fights he has not seen a decision yet, and there’s a possibility it remains that way if he gets Brown to the floor. Niko includes some slick entrances in his arsenal and a great deal of heart. On the feet, Brown likely has the benefit with his reach, but Price does have any sneaky power too, which can’t be overlooked. All in all, I like this as a GPP play.
Fade of this week — Alejandro Perez ($9,100)
Perez is the 2nd most expensive fighter on this card and he is only $100 less expensive than Volkanovski. In my view, Perez will need a finish to have a shot at paying off that pricey salary and that I do not want to invest in that, personally. He’s never landed greater than 1 takedown at a fight and Wineland has exceptional takedown defense, so we should see this fight occur on the feet. I think Perez needs to be the one to receive his hands raised in the conclusion but I think it will be via decision. If that’s the case then he could score ~60 points in a win, and also at $9.1k that is not going to win anybody a tournament. I will be complete fading Perez this week and hoping he does not get the end and he’s my official evaporate of this week.
