The group is led by notable baseball agent Jeff Borris, labour attorney Lucas Middlebrook and economist Andrew Zimbalist. Here’s what the press release had to say. “PFA will not just be a marriage of fighters, but it’ll be governed exclusively by fighters, but it’s the fighters that will control their own futures. The PFA has also received assistance from NHLPA, NFLPA, the MLBPA, NBAPA and MLSPU. I’ve been blessed to represent elite athletes for almost 40 decades, and think now more than ever in the benefits of collective bargaining to enhance and improve terms and conditions of employment, that’s the reason why I fully support and encourage efforts of the fighters to organize a union to represent them.” Said NHLPA executive director Donald Fehr. UFC fighters would need to challenge that standing so as to form a marriage and are independent contractors.
